Bella Vista Town Watch and its Beautification Committee heartily support the maintenance and proliferation of our neighborhood’s street trees. Besides offering up their natural beauty, these trees provide cooling shade to on-the-street pedestrians and adjacent homes and businesses. Trees absorb noise, filter pollution and can even raise property values. Bella Vista residents interested in properly planting and/or maintaining street trees can find a wealth of resources—including the city’s street trees rules and expert planting recommendations—on the Fairmont Park Street Tree information web page, which can be found here. Through a “Tree Tenders” program operated by the Fairmount Park Commission and the Pennsylvania Horticulture Society, Philadelphia residents can take free basic training course that teaches general tree-care, organization-building skills and grant writing. Information about the Tree Tenders program can be found here. |
